Fr Roddy McAuley

Fr. Roddy arrived in the parish on 12th August 2019. He attended Drygrange and Gillies College seminaries and was ordained priest in 1988.

He has served in a number of parishes throughout the Diocese in his thirty-one years of priesthood: South Uist, Eriskay, Oban, Campbeltown, Benbecula, Caol, and Glenfinnan.

He has Barra and Coatbridge roots and lived in Durban, South Africa for twelve years, His father lives in Oban. He has four sisters and a brother. His hobbies include: fishing, golf, bagpipes and running. His aim would be to encourage every person to use his/her gifts and talents in service of God and neighbour.

Every person can contribute something. In the words of Mother Theresa, “You can do what I cannot do. I can do what you cannot do, but together we can do something beautiful for God”.
